Happy Valentine’s day! We did a small fund-raising at work today, selling heart shaped balloons, candies, bears, and all the cute stuffs. It was fun! and everybody had to wear pink or red to work. Another fun stuff I would like to share today is my romantic basket project that I created using STAEDTLER Fimo air-drying modelling clay. Here is the (kinda) step by step photo of how I created this basket from start to finish.
I knead the modelling clay for several minutes and created thin long tubes, about 18 of them and lay on top of my sushi bowl, that has been wrapped with plastic. Let dry for 1 full day.
I add the top part of the base by using twisted long tubes that I described earlier. To help adhering this long piece, I used regular craft glue that is water-based and dries clear. I am sure most of you papercrafters have this glue at home, somewhere underneath your stash..
To color, I sharpened the STAEDTLER watercolor crayons and dilute the powder with water until it achieves the consistency and color that I want to use to cover the basket. Again, let dry overnight…
Tada…!!! Here is the end product after I finish coloring and gloss. I added a few flowers, leaves, and swirls here and there. Below are moredetail photos;
Total packages tof STAEDTLER Fimo Air-Drying Modelling Clay hat I used to create this basket: 5.
